Hello and a warm welcome!
My name is Lara, and I’m the sole owner, designer and creator responsible for crafting the beautiful jewellery you're admiring on this website. My journey in silversmithing began roughly five years ago, and I've slowly cultivated this business alongside my regular employment. In 2018, I took the plunge, and devoted a couple of terms to weekly classes and giving up my weekends to ensure I always had Monday mornings to focus on my passion. Looking back, it was unequivocally the best decision I ever made.
It's difficult to pinpoint precisely what I adore about silversmithing because the entire process serves as a meditative escape for me. However, I must admit I have a deep affinity for soldering. There's something captivating about that orangey-blue flame, and witnessing the solder flow is always a magical experience. Of course, I've encountered numerous setbacks along the way—some so painfully humbling that I needed to step back. Yet, I always find my way back to the workbench. I'm at my absolute happiest when I'm crafting on a sunny day, savouring a delicious cup of coffee, and working on a new project.
Fast forward to 2023, and I'm now the proud owner of a thriving business, operating from my own studio. I create one-of-a-kind pieces and share them with curious jewellery enthusiasts not only across the country but also internationally. My jewellery is crafted from 100% recycled sterling silver, and I specialise in semi-precious stone jewellery. I relish experimenting with various textures and techniques, and I'm constantly seeking to expand my skills. I'm also open to commission requests, so please don't hesitate to reach out.
You can find my creations in local shops in Bristol, such as Artigo on Gloucester Road. Additionally, for this upcoming Christmas season, I'll be at the Bristol Pop-Up Shop in the Galleries, Broadmead. I'm also a regular vendor at the wonderful Tobacco Factory Market in Bedminster, Bristol, and you might occasionally spot me selling my one-of-a-kind pieces at other markets like Craft and Flea markets, as well as the renowned Stroud Farmers Market.
Running your own business is not always a walk in the park, and I've learned a great deal along the way. This journey has taught me how to cultivate resilience, gratitude, and the art of embracing the incredible community of people who surround you—whether it's friends, family, fellow creators, or you, the customers who have entrusted me to create your cherished adornments. From the depths of my heart, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each one of you. I wouldn't be where I am today without your unwavering support, and I'm profoundly grateful to share this journey with you.
